Flowers for veterans

At their Wednesday meeting, members of the Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society Floral Design Group will make individual floral designs for veterans at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center.

The meeting is 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Lodge at Plymouth Village, 945 Salem Drive, Redlands. Anyone who is interested is welcome to help make the floral designs or donate fresh flowers and mugs for the designs.

The group will make more than 50 floral designs.

On Thursday, Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society members Jose Lopez, an Army veteran, and his wife, Dana, will deliver the floral designs to veterans in the hospital.

Participants are asked to bring scissors, clippers, etc., and any flowers or plant materials they want to contribute.

The coffee mugs used as containers for the designs have been donated by Precious Times Antiques, Redlands Estate Sale Consignments, Plymouth Village's Olde Curiosity Shop, Redlands Historical Glass Museum, Kimberly Crest House and Gardens and members of the Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society
