Anthuriums

Anthurium is a popular fun flower and appeals a smile to every person who sees it. Their charm is in looking almost unreal. The blossoms are thick, shiny, ribbed and wrinkled, as for leaves, they are large and shiny. Anthuriums are widely spread all over the world. They are bred as cut flowers and house plants grown in pots as well.

The plant has a lot of optional names. Among the popular ones are painter’s palette, flamingo flower, and tail flower. It originates from tropical American regions including more than 600 flower species. Anthurium is the representative of the Araceae family, with such other members as calla, philodendron and caladium. The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words ‘anthos’ that means "flower," and oura, that means "tail." Anthurium take an important place among the top 10 cut flowers at the Netherlands Auction Trade. The Netherlands is the country which is a main provider of tails flowers all over the world.

The plant is available all the year in various shades of red, burgundy, white, pink, orange, green,  and brown. If it is cut out it may last for 14-28 days.

As it was mentioned above Anthurium adds a special look to floral arrangements and are utilized used with all types of flowers and other tropical blooms.
