Lisianthus - Eustoma

Eustoma represents a genus of 3 species belonging to the family Gentianaceae and can be met in warm areas of the southern America, Mexico, Caribbean and northern South America. They thrive in grasslands and places of disturbed ground.

These herbaceous annual plants attain the height from 15 to 60 cm, bearing bluish- green foliage and big blooms in the shape of funnel. They grow on long upright stems.

Eustoma grandiflorum is one of the famous species and is valued for a lot of cultivars got for the cut flower trade. The cultivated plant is frequently called Lisianthus, Texas Bluebell or Prairie Gentian.
It is notable by attractive flowers coming in creamy, white, blue-violet, pink and rosy colors and shades. It blooms from late spring to late summer and even till the middle of the autumn.
